You're never gonna believe this, but I'm not a very, uh, alluring dancer. So, I've always tried to avoid scenes that might lead to any kind of dancing where I'm not given explicit instructions. Bookstores and sports bars (and swanky bars and house parties) all fit those qualifications. Did you and Crysta go dancing a lot? (I have no idea what the vibe is in any of those places, I don't know why I asked like I would know.)

Neither am I. Crysta dances. I'd sort of stand against the wall and try to headbang to the beat. But I think in general people are more tolerant of guys who can't dance, so I was really just coasting on patriarchy at da club. And okay, swanky bars. [...] Rooftop bar at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills, that's your scene, no dancing required. So if you'd lived in LA, you would have been safe, because I never went there.
